Ultrasonic Inspection

Ultrasonic inspection uses sound waves traveling through a material. Possible defects would act as a reflector to these waves, and produce echoes on a display. Sometimes however we may choose a particular reflector to present a signal (i.e. backwall) when conducting thickness measurements. The apparatus generates and measures the activities mentioned and displays results encountered in a variety of manners. (A-scan, B-scan, C-scan, digital read-out, etc.) Beside the material properties allowing this method to be applied, a number of material-, as well as geometrical characteristics have to be taken into consideration prior to executing an inspection. The method is suitable for inspection of surface and sub-surface conditions, and is applied across the board. Well trained personnel, suitable equipment and tooling, as well as the process control equipment being successfully applied guarantee the outcome of the techniques applied.

Knowledge about the changing parameters for different techniques is essential during interpretation of signal presentations. We offer our expertise, to help you assure the optimum inspection environment for your inspectors, and an increased detectability, repeatability and reliabilty of the method.

Line Services can determine and establish the parameters referred to, and therefor introduce and/or optimize the inspection methods to meet your, or your customers requirements.
