Magnetic Particle Inspection

 

Magnetic Particle inspection has already been applied for may years. The method obviously requires the material under inspection to be ferro magnetic in order to produce indications as a result of the applied magnetic field. Beside the ferrous requirement, a large variety of parameters make this inspection method successful however. It is not enough to have the equipment available, since all the thinkable tooling, and process control equipment which is generally listed in process specifications will take this method to the next level when applied with care, and correctly. The method is suitable for inspection of surface and slightly sub-surface conditions, but the success of the method is relative to the parameters being applied. As a result, well trained personnel, all possible tooling listed, as well as the process control equipment being successfully applied guarantee the outcome of the techniques applied.
